Job Summary

The Comfort Advisor is responsible for generating leads, evaluating the HVAC needs of residential customers, following the SGI Sales Model and creating and presenting options. This role requires good communication skills and HVAC knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Meeting the client’s needs and wants while meeting the minimum budgeted sales as determined by management’s plan. The company depends highly on the Comfort Advisor’s ability to convert prospects into satisfied owners of new air conditioning and heating systems.
  • Leads are valuable assets of the company and should be treated as such:
  • Be available within 15 minutes by phone at all times, other than scheduled vacations or holidays.
  • Arrive at appointments 5 - 10 minutes ahead of time.
  • Only present the price for a system when all the decision makers are present.
  • Use the Home Comfort Guide.
  • Perform a complete Comfort Survey and Home Analysis on every call.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. The Comfort Advisor is responsible for financing paperwork as well as ensuring collection of cash payments. Commission is not paid until the company is paid for the job or the client has signed a financing completion form.
  • Conduct daily activities with the highest level of honesty and integrity, and always display a positive attitude toward fellow team members. Understand that any misrepresentation to a client or the Sales Manager is grounds for immediate dismissal.
  • Arrive on time for sales training meetings conducted by the Sales Manager.
  • Obey company Code of Ethics and the Team Rules.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • 5+ years’ experience in the HVAC trade
  • Self-starter, reliable, flexibility with hours
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Be able to operate a smartphone and tablet
  • Be able to work in the heat and sub-zero weather
  • Possess basic and/or advanced trade experience
  • Present and communicate professionally (written and verbal)
  • Understanding of the current regulations within the field
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Working Environment:

  • Work both indoors and outdoors
  • Exposure to very hot or very cold temperatures

A Day in the Life of a Comfort Advisor HVAC Sales Representative

The Comfort Advisor HVAC Sales Representative will meet with current and potential customers to evaluate their homes and will identify the customer's need to accurately design a heating and air conditioning system for residential applications. They will educate our customers on HVAC solutions and help them select the best options for their needs and budgets. Our Comfort Advisor HVAC Sales Representative will provide pricing for multiple options, offer and qualify customers for financing options. This position includes building strong bonds with customers and earning repeat business through excellent interpersonal skills. In doing all this, our Comfort Advisor HVAC Sales Representative will meet and exceed budgeted sales goals through top performance and commitment.

What You Need to be Qualified for the Comfort Advisor HVAC Sales Representative Position

In order to be qualified for the Comfort Advisor HVAC Sales Representative position, a minimum of 3 years of successful experience in a high-end sales environment is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess the drive to continually exceed sales goals, work well independently, be a terrific presenter and communicator, have strong ethics and values, be highly motivated, work well in a team environment and be able to work regular weekend and after work hours. The Comfort Advisor HVAC Sales Representative must have the ability to operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and be highly organized with exceptional follow through abilities.
